Sarah Nov 3

We’re all very happy with this set, was a joy to do. The dress, the setting and of course sarah are all lovely. Shot at Crombie Country Park we certainly got a few strange looks from passers by but who cares with results like these. Thanks to Gilly and Sarah for a very productive shoot day.
Set shot with… Canon 5d Mark II // Canon 35mm 1.4L // Canon 85mm 1.2L // Canon 135mm 2.0L // canon 430ex flash in 28 inch softbox

Sarah Nov 2

2nd shoot with Sarah (actually the 3rd but i’m keeping the best till last). The first few were shot on a big hay truck in the middle of a field in Carnoustie just as the sun was going down, couldn’t stay long as we were getting bitten alive and my car was close to being stuck in the mud… it’s so glamorous this business! Sarah was rocking the cowgirl look, lucky she brought along those boots and again the light was just perfect, I love when it comes together like that unexpectedly.
The last few shots were down at Dundee Riverside with an oil rig behind sarah to create some of that wonderful creamy back lighting.
Set shot with… Canon 5d Mark II // Canon 35mm 1.4L // Canon 85mm 1.2L // Canon 135mm 2.0L // canon 430ex flash in 28 inch softbox

Sarah Nov 1

A bit of a christmas vibe going on here, well it is december in a few days. I want to do shoots like this all the time! Had a great day at Crombie Country Park with Sarah and Gilly. As the day went on the light got better and better and what a beautiful setting. Two more sets coming very soon and this one can be seen on our facebook page and photo diary

Taylor

Taylor came to us looking to kick off her portfolio with some great shots and to see if it would be something she enjoyed and would like to take further. For someone who hasn’t modelled before she was the most natural and relaxed i’ve ever seen, obviously been watching way too much Britains Next Top Model. This is one of my favourite shoots so far, getting out of the studio and exploring new locations, I find it a much more natural and rewarding experience for us and the model. Even with the colder weather we’re looking forward to stepping out more on shoots, we just have to find some new locations around Dundee and Angus, anyone have any ideas?
These were shot in Carnoustie and Westhaven with … Canon 5d Mark II // Canon 35mm 1.4L // Canon 85mm 1.2L // Canon 135mm 2.0L // canon 430ex flash
Oh and we have a new website - please check it out and maybe book a shoot yourself. www.burfly.co.uk

Catriona Rennie Shoot 1 October 2011

Haven’t shot with Catriona for such a very long time, she was part of our second ever shoot a few years back and it was so good it inspired us and gave us the confidence to take on more shoots, was great to see her again and so chuffed she chose us to do her first shoot after having a baby. Started off simple then headed out for some autumn fun…oh so cold and wet… but worth it!

Stephanie Shoot

A few shots from a shoot a few weeks back with my big cousin Stephanie, these were taken for her birthday and we had a blast, Kirsty Miller who also knows Steph helped out with the makeup and pampering, thanks to everyone.
The full set is over on my photo diary as usual.
If you have an important birthday coming up why not think about a burfly shoot.

Emily and Jessica

Had such fun with Emily and Jessica on this shoot up at Crombie park, a great location for a family or kids shoot. This pair loved exploring on our way to the hide and I think we got some cracking shots. All natural light. View the above and a whole lot more in our gallery page

Emma Johnston in the house

Amazing new set from saturday with the stunning Emma Johnston from Edinburgh/Broughty Ferry. What an exceptional model and great day, not sure why it’s taken us so long to shoot together but can’t wait to shoot again.
Makeup by the wonderful Kirsty Miller at Signature Makeup.
Check the photo diary for more and get in touch if you fancy a shoot.

ABX beauty photoshoot

Last weekend was spent shooting Hazel and Gracie from Colours Modelling Agency Glasgow, the shoot was split into 2 days. The client was ABX Beauty Ltd who are based in Perth. The reason for the lengthy shoot was that Burfly was shooting the whole process from start to finish for individual eyelash extensions for 2 girls, what an incredibly involved and time consuming process but well worth it in the end, they looked amazing. Our home studio proved just big enough for all the equipment too.
A huge thanks goes to Kirsty Miller at signature makeup who must be getting fed up of the sight of us by now and also of course to Angie at ABX.
Full sets can be found over on our photo diary as usual and head over to Signature Makeups blog for more info about the shoot and the lashes
